By using our website at www.styledbyjane.ch, you agree to comply with the following terms and conditions. Styled by Jane reserves the right to change these terms and conditions at any time without prior notice. Please check back regularly for any updates.

Definitions

In these Terms & Conditions:

  • "You" and "your" refer to all users and customers of this website.
  • "Styled by Jane", "we", "us", and "our" refer to Styled by Jane, the owner of this website and its services.

Legal Agreement

These Terms & Conditions are a legally binding agreement between you and Styled by Jane. By accessing or using our website, you agree to follow and be bound by them.

If we update these terms, the new version will replace any previous versions. Your continued use of the website means you accept the latest terms.

Some parts of the website may have additional guidelines or rules. If so, those must be followed along with these Terms & Conditions.

Hire Agreement

This agreement sets out the terms and conditions for hiring products from Styled by Jane via our website www.styledbyjane.ch .

By clicking the “I accept” button, you agree to rent products in accordance with this Hire Agreement, as well as our Terms & Conditions and Privacy Policy. All rented products remain the property of Styled by Jane at all times.

Payment Terms

By hiring from Styled by Jane, you authorize us to charge your selected payment method for the hire fee, delivery fee, and any additional charges listed on our website.

You also agree that if you fail to meet the obligations set out in the Hire Agreement (such as not returning the item or returning it in unacceptable condition), we reserve the right to charge up to 100% of the original retail value of the hired product.

Payment is required at the checkout stage of the hiring process.

For security purposes, we may request a valid ID number, credit card details, or other identification at checkout. If you’re unable to provide the requested information, we reserve the right to decline the hire. These measures are in place to help protect our garments and ensure a smooth hire experience for all customers.

Sizing Issues & Damaged Garments

If a product does not fit or is unsuitable for any reason, please contact us and return it within 24 hours of delivery. Once we receive the garment in its original condition, we will issue a refund minus shipping costs.

  1. Please note:
  •  The item must be unworn, as determined by Styled by Jane.
  • The security tag must still be attached. If it has been removed, the item will be considered worn and non-refundable.

Damaged Items

We ask that you inspect your item immediately upon delivery.

If you notice any damage:

  •    Contact us within 4 hours of delivery
  •    Include clear photo evidence of the damage.

If we do not receive notification and photo evidence within this timeframe, we will assume the item arrived in good condition, and responsibility for any damage will be transferred to you.

Deposits

To protect the quality of our garment collection and ensure a smooth experience for all customers, a refundable deposit is required for each rental.

  • The deposit amount will be clearly communicated at checkout and is based on the value of the garment.
  • This amount will be temporarily frozen on your card at the time of booking.
  • The deposit will be released back to your account once the garment is returned on time and in its original condition, with no significant damage or breach of our Terms & Conditions.

What the Deposit Covers

Your deposit may be used to cover:

  • Significant damage, loss or alterations beyond normal wear and tear
  • Late returns
  •  Failure to comply with our Terms & Conditions
  • Minor issues, such as small tears or missing buttons, are covered by Styled by Jane and will not affect your deposit.

If repair or replacement costs exceed the deposit amount, you will be responsible for the remaining balance.

Fairness & Transparency

Any issues will be assessed fairly by our team. If needed, we will contact you to discuss the situation and work toward a reasonable resolution.

Updates to Deposit Policy

Style by Jane reserves the right to update or modify the deposit policy at any time. It is your responsibility to review the most current terms before booking.

Shipping Details

All parcels are sent via Priority Swiss Post (next day delivery).

Responsibility

Once the package has been delivered to your address, all responsibility and liability for the garment transfers to you.

Incorrect Address

We are not responsible for deliveries where an incorrect or incomplete address has been provided.

If the address you provided is incorrect:

  • You will not be entitled for a refund
  • You may be liable for late fees or the full replacement cost if the garment is not returned to us

Please double-check your delivery details at checkout to avoid any issues.

Cleaning

All garments are professionally cleaned by Styled by Jane before and after each rental. We kindly ask that you do not clean, alter, iron, or press the garments yourself unless you have received prior approval from us.

While we steam all items before shipping, some fabrics may naturally wrinkle during transit. If your dress arrives with slight creases:

  • You may gently steam it on a low heat setting, or
  • Hang it in a steamy bathroom to help release the wrinkles.

Damaged or Lost Garments

We kindly ask that you treat our garments with the same care and respect as you would your own.

What We Cover

Styled by Jane will cover minor wear and tear that may occur during your hire, including:

  • Broken zips
  • Minor fabric splits
  •  Small holes
  • Broken adjustable straps
  •  Loose or missing buttons / jewels
  •  Removable stains and standard garment cleaning

These issues are considered normal and will not affect your deposit. 

What We Don’t Cover

We do not cover damage that renders a garment unfit for future hires. If the garment is:

  •  Severely damaged
  • Permanently stained
  •  Altered
  •  Torn beyond repair

then your deposit may be used to cover repair or replacement costs. If the item is deemed beyond repair, your will be charged the full recommended retail price (RRP) of the garment, as outlined in our Terms & Conditions.

Assessment Process

All returned garments will be assessed by Styled by Jane in consultation with a professional seamstress or dry cleaner, if needed.

We will:

  1.  Inspect the damage
  2. Determine whether the item is repairable
  3. Calculate any applicable repair costs or deductions from your deposit

Styled by Jane’s assessment will be considered final and binding.

If Damage Occurs

We understand that accidents can happen. If your garment is damaged:

  • Contact us as soon as possible
  •  Send clear photos of the damage
  •  Include a brief description of what happened

Please note: All garments must be returned, even if damaged.

Lost or Stolen Garments

If a garment is lost, stolen, or not returned for any reason – whether or not it was your fault – you will be liable to pay the full recommended retail price of the item.

Cancellations & Refunds

  •  If you cancel your order 10 or more working days before the delivery date, you will receive a full refund.
  • If you cancel between 10 and 3 working days before the delivery date, 50% of the total hiring price will be charged.
  • If you cancel less than 3 working days before the delivery date, 100% of the total hiring price will be charged.
